Apart from the museum items and the interesting temporary exhibitions, the facade paintings and the decorated rafters of the house demonstrate how people used to live in former days.
The former living culture may also be recognized in the rustic farmers' kitchen. The cosy room may be rented for meetings and private events. A rich collection of exhibits is presented in the attic.
The name of Gossau's local museum is reminiscent of the former "IDEWE" textile company that had been first established in Unterottikon and had its headquarters in Wetzikon. We have written evidence of this prominent vertical timbering building from 1592. Influential families have lived in it ever since. Around 1780, it has been partially redesigned into a Tudor-style house with a dormer.
