Balchenstahl Bed and Breakfast.

Cosy bed and breakfast for four people close to Pfäffikon ZH. No matter whether you are on a business trip, planning an active holiday, or whether you have a couple of days to relax, you will definitely feel at home here. Our house is located off the beaten track in a small hamlet. Many hiking and biking trails pass directly by the house.

Directions

The next bus stop is within a 15-minute walk from our house. The town and the beautiful Lake Pfäffikon can be reached within only a few minutes by car. Larger cities such as Zurich, Winterthur and Rapperswil can be reached easily by car or public transport.

Travelling by car:
Highway A53 (from Zurich), Uster Ost exit, follow signs to Pfäffikon ZH 
Highway A1, Effretikon exit, follow signs to Rapperswil / Pfäffikon ZH 
Highway A53 (from Rapperswil), follow signs to Hinwil / Winterthur

Travelling by public transport:
Take the train to Pfäffikon ZH station and bus no. 835 / 837 in direction of Hittnau or bus no. 833 in direction of Wallikon as far as «Hittnau, Isikon».

Things to do

  • Tobelweiher: A walk to the Tobelweiher is worthwhile in any case. In about 15 minutes you can reach the small cosy pond with a barbecue area in the middle of the forest. Listen to the murmur of the creek and the twittering of birds or, if you are a climbing enthusiast, visit the small cave above the rock wall.

  • Lake Pfäffikon: Lake Pfäffikon can be reached in about 30 minutes on foot. Enjoy a cool bath and delicious ice cream at Pfäffikon's public swimming pool or the Auslikon lido. A walk around the lake and a visit to the nature centre will give you an insight into the world of flora and fauna.

  • Rosinli Mountain: Experience a varied landscape on a three-hour hike to Rosinli Mountain before you stop at the restaurant at the top where you can enjoy the fantastic view over Lake Pfäffikon.
